Our Little Captain Gavin

Here is a video of Gavin, our grandson, from 8/16/2008.  He was just 2 years old at the time.  As you will see, he is telling Grandpa Andy that he is in control of the vessel.  We were headed out the channel from Muskegon Lake to Lake Michigan at the time.  He's going to be a Captain, just like his Daddy (Hollis Barker)!

Hi

Are you the Island Time that braved the Detour Village monsoon waves last July?

If so, we met during the Chili Cookout on "A" Dock at Crosswinds Marina last September. We have the ChrisCraft. Our blog about our North Channel adventures is www.greatlakescruising.blogspot.com. Plus, I'm doing a Daily Chicago Photo Blog to help get through the winter.

I stumbled on your blog through your picture on the GLCC website. Welcome to blogging and congratulations on the condo in Florida!

Hi Bernadine and Phil,
I am not sure if we have met or not. Are you speaking of the Crosswinds Marina on White Lake? I know that there is another sailboat with the name Island Time, possibly at that marina. Our boat was at the Great Lakes Marina on Muskegon Lake last summer. We appreciate that you took a look at our blog. We are planning to take our boat to Florida, probably having it transported in October. Until then, we will be back on Muskegon Lake. We are planning to make a trip to the North Channel and to Lake Huron during this summer, so we will definitely be looking at your blog about the North Channel!

Yes, it is Crosswinds on White Lake. It must be the other Island Time as we were not on Muskegon Lake this year. Oh well.

Good luck with the North Channel trip. It is incredible up there. It was our first trip up there and I can't tell you how valuable the GLCC reports were to us during our North Channel cruise last year.

We're taking this summer off from cruising so I'll follow your blog to cruise vicariously ;)
